Installation
The Expose macOS app is a native SwiftUI application that runs in your menu bar.
System Requirements
- macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later
- Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) or Intel Mac
- ~50 MB disk space
Download
Download the latest version from the download page.
Installation Steps
- Download the DMG file from the download page
- Open the downloaded
Expose.dmgfile - Drag Expose to your Applications folder
- Open Expose from Applications
First Launch
On first launch, macOS may show a security warning:
- Click Cancel on the warning dialog
- Go to System Preferences → Privacy & Security
- Click Open Anyway next to the Expose entry
- Click Open in the confirmation dialog
Granting Permissions
Expose needs certain permissions to function:
Network Access
Expose connects to your server over HTTPS. Allow network access when prompted.
Accessibility (Optional)
For keyboard shortcuts, grant accessibility access in System Preferences → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
Menu Bar Icon
After launching, Expose appears in your menu bar:
- Click the icon to see the quick menu
- Click Open Dashboard to access the main window
- The icon shows the number of active tunnels
Verifying Installation
- Click the Expose menu bar icon
- Select Settings → Account
- If you see the settings page, installation was successful
Updating
Expose checks for updates automatically. When an update is available:
- Click Update Available in the menu
- Download the new version
- Quit Expose
- Replace the app in Applications
- Relaunch
Uninstalling
To completely remove Expose:
- Quit Expose from the menu bar
- Delete
/Applications/Expose.app - Delete
~/Library/Application Support/Expose/(preferences) - Delete
~/Library/Caches/com.basique.Expose/(cache)
# Or from Terminal:rm -rf /Applications/Expose.apprm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Exposerm -rf ~/Library/Caches/com.basique.Expose
