Installation

The Expose macOS app is a native SwiftUI application that runs in your menu bar.

System Requirements

  • macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later
  • Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) or Intel Mac
  • ~50 MB disk space

Download

Download the latest version from the download page.

Installation Steps

  1. Download the DMG file from the download page
  2. Open the downloaded Expose.dmg file
  3. Drag Expose to your Applications folder
  4. Open Expose from Applications

First Launch

On first launch, macOS may show a security warning:

  1. Click Cancel on the warning dialog
  2. Go to System PreferencesPrivacy & Security
  3. Click Open Anyway next to the Expose entry
  4. Click Open in the confirmation dialog

Granting Permissions

Expose needs certain permissions to function:

Network Access

Expose connects to your server over HTTPS. Allow network access when prompted.

Accessibility (Optional)

For keyboard shortcuts, grant accessibility access in System Preferences → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.

After launching, Expose appears in your menu bar:

  • Click the icon to see the quick menu
  • Click Open Dashboard to access the main window
  • The icon shows the number of active tunnels

Verifying Installation

  1. Click the Expose menu bar icon
  2. Select SettingsAccount
  3. If you see the settings page, installation was successful

Updating

Expose checks for updates automatically. When an update is available:

  1. Click Update Available in the menu
  2. Download the new version
  3. Quit Expose
  4. Replace the app in Applications
  5. Relaunch

Uninstalling

To completely remove Expose:

  1. Quit Expose from the menu bar
  2. Delete /Applications/Expose.app
  3. Delete ~/Library/Application Support/Expose/ (preferences)
  4. Delete ~/Library/Caches/com.basique.Expose/ (cache)
